The method involves determining a physical feature of a control device (2) by recording a measuring value (M1), which is characteristic for former physical feature. Another physical feature of the control device is determined by recording another measuring value (M2), which is characteristic for latter physical feature. The efficiency of the control device is evaluated (II) based on the physical features. A future application requirement to the control device is considered during the evaluation of the efficiency.
