Composition of polysaccharide derivative comprises at least one polysaccharide derivative having an average molecular weight of 1100000-10000000. Composition of polysaccharide derivative comprises at least one polysaccharide derivative of formula (A-(C(=O)-X-NH-R) n) having an average molecular weight of 1100000-10000000. A : polysaccharide residue; R : acyl group derived from optionally saturated 1-22C, preferably 8-22C fatty acid; -CO-X-NH- : amino acid residue, preferably aspartic acid, alanine, arginine, ornithine, glycine, glutamic acid, threonine, serine or lysine; and n : 50-20000. An independent claim is included for producing the composition of the polysaccharide derivative, comprising reacting an N-acylamino acid or its salt and an anhydride or its ester with a polysaccharide or a modified polysaccharide.
