The present invention relates to a three-dimensional face recognition system and a face recognition method thereof, which can acquire a three-dimensional face image by superposing two cameras. An embodiment of the present invention discloses the three-dimensional face recognition system comprising a first camera for photographing a visible light image of a target to be face-recognized; an infrared ray patterned light device irradiating infrared ray patterned light to the target to be face-recognized; a second camera for photographing an infrared ray image of the pattern irradiated to the target to be face-recognized; a mirror for matching the optical axis of the first camera with the optical axis of the second camera; and a control unit for generating the three-dimensional face image of the target to be face-recognized by taking depth information and a color image to which the visible light image and the infrared ray image are matched, from the first camera and the second camera.
