PURPOSE: A system for adjusting an update period dynamically for a heterogeneous device-based social media application and a method thereof are provided to maintain the simultaneous control and consistency of the overall work under the virtual collaborative environment, and to adjust a forwarding ratio of an update message properly. CONSTITUTION: In the environment where a server(100) and a client terminal are connected through a network, the server transmits three events(start, on-going, and end events) to a client according to an event format of translation, rotation and scale event. The on-going event is adjusted with a constant ratio between the start event and the end event for the client. When Ri is larger than or equal to 100%, one server forwards all on-going events to the client. In case of Ri smaller than 100%, if Ri is equal to or smaller than 50%, the server forwards the on-going event like a mathematical equation 1. If Ri is larger than 50% and smaller than 100% and the count number of the on-going event is equal to a mathematical equation 2, the on-going event is not forwarded.
