The method involves providing three-dimensional earth model (2) and three-dimensional formation of an annular point field (3) with time indicator elements (6a-6c) for displaying the time. The annular point field is surrounded in relation to the three-dimensional earth model. Annular point field is moved relatively to the time variation of three-dimensional earth model, such that the relative motion between model and annular point field is obtained from axis of earth and from the superimposed motion of earth model along the orbit of sun (8). An independent claim is included for time display device.
