The method involves using anti-collision system data for monitoring transparency of usage of resources on, in and from water bodies e.g. sea or ocean. Global monitoring of fishery activities is carried out over a long time period by evaluation of the anti-collision system data. Anti-collision system signals from satellite and terrestrial and maritime receiving systems are stored in a database and evaluated. The anti-collision system data is temporally or locally evaluated for detecting illegal, unreported and unregistered fishery.
