The spur-gear differential gear box (1) has a drivable web (2) in which the primary spur-gears (6,7) are mounted in a recess (12). The primary spur-gears are located in meshing operative engagement with the secondary spur-gears (9). The two sun wheels (10,11) are attached to the respective secondary spur-gears. The primary spur-gears are combined with the sun wheels in single meshing line. The secondary spur-gears are located in different radial planes. An independent claim is included for a powertrain for motor vehicle.
