The method involves executing an oxy-fuel combustion (130) partly inside a water body (110) and producing water vapor with the combustion exhaust gas of the oxyfuel combustion provided as the steam-gas mixture by combustion heat of the oxyfuel combustion from water of the water body. The oxy-fuel combustion is carried out in a combustion chamber (120), which is partially positioned inside the water body. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) an oil recovery enhancing method; and (2) a device for producing water vapor-gas mixture.
