The method involves acquiring a wide-band antenna signal and outputting the wide-band antenna signal to a signal processing unit. A maximum allowable level of a band-limited portion signal of a signal processing device is determined. A level of a band-limited signal portion of the signal processing device is determined by a level detector (104) and controlled by a control element. Sub-range signals of the signal processing unit are added into an output signal and the output signal is transmitted to a wideband receiver and/or multi-channel wideband direction finder. An independent claim is also included for a device for enhancing dynamic and large signal properties with wide band receivers and/or multi-channel wide band direction finders.
