PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide cesium adsorbent having a high radioactive cesium adsorption capability and effectively decontaminating contaminated water, soil, and the like.;SOLUTION: Provided is cesium adsorbent containing iron oxide containing silicon and exhibiting a sufficient adsorption capability even in the presence of impurity ions. The cesium adsorbent can be produced by neutralizing and then oxidizing iron compound and silicon compound in a medium. Using sulfuric acid containing iron compound by-produced in a process of producing titanium oxide by a sulfuric acid method can achieve the cesium adsorbent at low cost.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2015,JPO&INPIT
