The monolithic catalyst for the simultaneous removal of NOx and carbon particles from the flue-gases of the coal-fired power plant contains a monolith of austenic acid-resistant steel. The catalyst is two-phase and contains the spindle-structured phases NiFe2O4 and FeCr2O4, with these phases forming microcrystals which contain additional Mn. The mode of production of a monolithic catalyst for the simultaneous removal of NOx and carbon particles, in particular from the flue-gases of coal-fired power plants, is that the monolith is oxidised and the resulting oxygen layers are saturated with a solution of soluble nickel salts,then the monolith is reheated in an oxidising atmosphere in order to incorporate nickel ions into an oxygen layer and the resulting oxygen layers are reduced.
