The invention relates to the field of information technology, and more particularly to a personal assistant with elements of artificial intelligence and to a method for using same. The present invention can be used in the creation and use of computer systems, control systems and production systems having various purposes, in which a user needs to have a meaningful dialogue with a computer system and in which the accumulation of knowledge is required. By comparison with other methods of communication with computer systems, the difficulty of formulating search queries is decreased because questions are worded in natural language and search results are selected appropriately; learning and knowledge accumulation are possible, as is the taking into consideration of user experience and preferences, and an active dialogue is conducted between the system and the user, including communication initiated by the system.
