Adaptive channel state feedback based on channel estimation features and reporting requirements

Energy-efficient provision of adaptive channel state feedback (CSF) reports in discontinuous receive (DRX) scenarios. The described algorithm may be capable of adaptive decisions to transmit CSF from previous DRX cycles based on a comparison between an offset where the CSF values are stable and an offset where a CSF report to a base station to be sent. If the CSF values are not stable at the time the CSF report is sent, a CSF report from an earlier DRX cycle can be used. Alternatively, if the CSF values are stable at the time the CSF report is scheduled to ship, it may be determined that either a new CSF report is generated or a previous CSF report is used. This setting can be made based on various criteria, including channel conditions and DRX cycle length.
