PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for increasing the rice seed yield.SOLUTION: The invention relates to: a method for increasing the rice seed yield comprising a step of inhibiting the expression of LOC_Os08 g12430 gene in the rice genome DNA; a method for producing a rice seed in which the expression of LOC_Os08 g12430 gene is repressed; and a rice seed with increased yield which is produced by the same method. The method for increasing the rice seed yield by inhibiting the expression of LOC_Os08 g12430 gene can increase the rice seed yield without introducing foreign genes, so that the method can exclude the risk of foreign gene introduction and will be widely used for mass production of rice seed with increased safety.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2a
