PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology which enables the effective removal of foams out of a pasty liquid having non-Newtonian characteristic.SOLUTION: A defoaming apparatus 210, which removes foams out of non-Newtonian and pasty liquid AL, comprises a storage part 211 having a storage space RS1 capable of storing the liquid AL, an input pipe 212 that flows the liquid AL into the storage space RS1 to form a liquid pool PL having a gas-liquid interface Igl with the ambient gas in the storage space RS1, and an output pipe 213 that flows the liquid AL out of the storage pool PL. Out of the channel of the liquid AL including the input pipe 212 and the storage part 211, a partial section upstream of the gas-liquid interface Igl in a flow direction of the liquid AL is a low-wettability channel formed of a low-wettability material with a low-wettability to the liquid AL and the gas-liquid interface comes in contact with a channel wall.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
