A gamma difference compensating apparatus comprises a photographing unit, an average luminance calculating unit, a first gamma curve generating unit, a front luminance measuring unit, a front gamma calculating unit, a second gamma curve generating unit, and a gamma compensating unit. The photographing unit photographs an image displayed on a display panel, and outputs photographed data. The average luminance calculating unit outputs average luminance data of the image based on the photographed data. The first gamma curve generating unit outputs a first gamma curve data of the image based on the average luminance data. The front luminance measuring unit measures luminance of a left region from a front of the left region disposed on a left side of a center region of the display panel, measures luminance of a right region from a front of the right region disposed on a right side of the center region of the display panel, and outputs front luminance data. The front gamma calculating unit outputs front gamma data based on the front luminance data. The second gamma curve generating unit incorporates the front gamma data into the first gamma data, and outputs second gamma curve data. The gamma compensating unit compensates for a gamma value of the left region and a gamma value of the right region so that the gamma value of the left region is identical to a gamma value of the center region and the gamma value of the right region is identical to the gamma value of the center region. Accordingly, uniformity of luminance of the display panel can be increased, display quality of a display apparatus can be improved, and manufacturing costs of an inspection apparatus for inspection of the display apparatus can be decreased.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2016
