Method for ultrasonic welding of a titanium based component (1) to a carbon-fibre reinforced plastic, CFRP, component (2). It comprises overlapping a first sheet component (2) with a second sheet component (1) at an overlap region, the first sheet component (2) comprising CRFP and the second sheet component (1) comprising titanium or a titanium alloy, placing the overlap region between an anvil (4) and a sonotrode (5) of an ultrasonic welding apparatus (20), exciting the sonotrode (5) with ultrasonic oscillations (u) parallel to the surface of the second sheet component (1), while exerting a predeterminable clamping force (F) on the sonotrode (5) perpendicular to the second sheet component (1), and creating a welding joint (3) between the first sheet component (2) and the second sheet component (1) at the overlap region by maintaining the ultrasonic oscillations (u) and the clamping force (F) for a predeterminable time span.
