PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an eukaryotic microalgae that is genetically engineered so that assimilation products produced by photosynthesis are more likely to be subjected to a triglyceride (also known as triacylglycerol: TAG) synthesis.SOLUTION: A genetically modified eukaryotic microalgae strain with a highly expressed AGL1 protein-coding gene or a genetically modified eukaryotic microalgae strain with the above gene and a highly expressed FAT1 protein-coding gene and/or a highly expressed DGAT2 protein-coding gene. The genetically modified eukaryotic microalgae strain has an improved TAG productivity compared to the parent strain.SELECTED DRAWING: None
