Described is a system for the early detection of fire in compressed video flows intended to perform the video-surveillance inside and outside any type of building, and may be applied to different environments, such as commercial, industrial, residential, amongst others. This system is characterized in that it uses the IP protocol series for transferring video data, which contain compressed images under the international standards JPEG (Joint Picture Expert Group), MPEG (Motion Picture Expert Group) or any other that is based on the DCT transformation method.
