A method for evaluating imbibition effects of waterflooding on crude oilproduced from atleast two core samples is described herein. The method includes providing theat leasttwo core samples to a core holder, each core sample forming a layer within thecoreholder, each core sample being absorbed with crude oil that is distinguishablefromother crude oil absorbed on other core samples, and each core sample having apermeability that is different than a permeability of the other core samples,conductingthe waterflooding on the core samples by injecting a first fluid into the coreholder toproduce a second fluid, the second fluid comprising at least a portion of thecrude oil ofeach of the core samples; analyzing the second fluid to determine a volume ofoneportion of the crude oil produced from one of the core samples; anddetermining, basedon the volume of the one portion of the crude oil, a volume of crude oilproduced due toimbibition effects from the one of the core samples based on the permeabilitythe one ofthe core samples.
