An automatically-sensing speed-adjusting residual sand washing control system (10) for treatment of polluted sediment in a river, lake, or estuary, comprising a sensor device (100), a variable-frequency speed-adjusting device (102), and a control device (101). The sensor device (100) senses the height of sand in a sand hopper and feeds a corresponding sensing signal back to the control device (101). The control device (101) controls, on the basis of the sensing signal, the variable-frequency speed-adjusting device (102) to adjust the rotational speed of a hoist to a preset value, thus implementing automatic adjustment of the rotational speed of the hoist on the basis of the volume of the sand so as to allow the hoist to match in real-time the treating capacity of a sand washer, ensuring the stability of system operation, and preventing the phenomena of spilling and imbalance from occurring.
