A DEVICE FOR FACILITATING THE REMOVAL OF A SAFETY PIN OF A FIRE EXTINGUISHER

A relieving support (17) for a safety pin (4), which prevents accidental triggering of the extinction agent in a fire extinguisher (1). The relieving support (17) prevent the operating handle (3) of the fire extinguisher (1) to be depressed towards the transport handle (2) and jam the safety pin (4) when it is to be pulled out. The relieving support (17) is arranged on the inside of the transport handle (2) of the fire extinguisher (1) and connected to the holes for the safety pin (4). The relieving support (17) is comprised of a bearing seat and a blocking device (14), which is pivotal therein, and which with a fulcrum (13) in its lower part is arranged in the bearing seat (6). The abutment of the blocking device (14) against the inside of the operating handle (3) of the fire extinguisher (1) is angled so that the blocking device (14) can be turned away when the operating handle (3) is depressed, after the safety pin (5) has been pulled out. When the safety pin (5) is removed,the operating handle (3) can affect the triggering valve of the fire extinguisher (1), sothat the extinction can be commenced.
