METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR AUTHENTICATION USING CIRCULATION SECURE KEYPAD AND OVERLAPPING GRID PATTERN

Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for performing authentication by inputting a password using a circulation secure keypad and a grid pattern. An authentication method using a circulation secure keypad and a grid pattern, performed by a user terminal, includes: a step of providing a password input interface using a circulation keypad for circularly displaying a key and a grid pattern which overlaps on the circulation keypad and has a plurality of input grid cells set to determine a plurality of input keys from keys arranged on the circulation keypad; a step of changing a position of a key by moving the circulation keypad according to an input signal received through the password input interface; and a step of determining a plurality of keys located on a plurality of input grid cells of the grid pattern as an input key according to a preset reference. Therefore, the vulnerability of pattern authentication against the shoulder-surfing attack, recording attack, and smudge attack can be improved by utilizing a dual structure of the circulation keypad and the grid pattern.
