Provided are a system and method for generating scene knowledge ontology based on domain knowledge ontology. The domain knowledge ontology constructed by domain knowledge capable of defining metadata for each scene of content is generated. The scene knowledge of one or more events for each scene of arbitrary content is defined based on the domain knowledge ontology. The scene knowledge ontology is generated by tagging the defined scene knowledge as the metadata of the corresponding scene. Accordingly, the present invention can easily search a scene of conventional content.
