POLYESTER CORE-SHEATH COMPOSITE SHORT FIBER, SPUN YARN CONTAINING THE SHORT FIBER, AND FABRIC CONTAINING THE SHORT FIBER

To provide a polyester core-sheath composite short fiber having a property of passing well through a step of producing yarns for constituting a fabric and a weaving/knitting step of constituting the fabric and having an excellent ultraviolet-blocking property, a dual layer structure spun yarn including the short fiber, and a fabric including the short fiber.SOLUTION: A polyester core-sheath composite short fiber including 3 to 15 mass% of inorganic oxide microparticles in polyester forming a core component and 0 to 1 mass% of inorganic oxide microparticles in polyester forming a sheath component; the short fiber satisfies the following items (1) to (3): (1) the short fiber has a fiber length of 20 to 70 mm, (2) the short fiber has a crimp number of 5 to 20 apexes/25 mm and (3) the short fiber has a crimp rate of 5 to 30%.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
