PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of simply, safely, and effectively evaluating whether a hydroxide ion conduction dense film has a sufficiently high denseness appropriate for a predetermined application such as a separator for a battery.SOLUTION: The method of evaluating the denseness of a hydroxide ion conduction dense film includes: a process of supplying He gas to one surface of the hydroxide ion conduction dense film to make the He gas pass through the dense film; and a process of calculating the He transmissivity on the basis of the expression of F/(P×S) using a transmission amount F of the He gas per unit time, differential pressure P applied to the dense film during passing of the He gas, and film area S through which the He gas passes, and evaluates the denseness of the dense film on the basis of the He transmissivity.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1A
