The invention relates to a novel organo-aqueous electrolyte developed for the functionalization of titanium-based biomaterials by the potentiostatic anodization method. The solution is based on the partial replacement of the electrolyte solvent with the simulated body fluid solution - sbf. This new electrolyte, because it has the ions present in the blood plasma, promotes the modification of the oxide grown in titanium substrates and incorporation of species of the same, which are available on the surface. The incorporation of these chemical species presents improvements in wettability, oxide-substrate adhesion and induction of biological responses, providing greater chances of chemical bonding at the implant-bone tissue interface without altering the nanorugness provided by anodization.
