A relative objective proximity and marginal analysis principle coupled multi-objective optimization dispatching method for a cascade hydropower station. The method constructs a relative objective proximity optimization model by introducing objective positive and negative ideal points to efficiently process multi-objective optimization; proposes a complex dispatching constraint processing policy, and couples a genetic algorithm to carry out model solving to determine optimal solution sets of different objective weight coefficients; on this basis, introduces marginal revenue and marginal cost to represent a relationship of change of a multi-objective function value along with the weight coefficients; and according to the profit maximization rule in economics, carries out marginal analysis to the objective weight coefficients to finally determine a benefit-dominated area, a cost-dominated area, and an equilibrium area, and provide a multi-objective decision-making basis. The method effectively takes the requirements of the multi-objective optimization dispatching of a cascade hydropower station into consideration, facilitates reducing subjective assumption in decision-making by dispatchers, and provides a new technical approach for the decision-making of the dispatching of a super-large drainage basin hydropower station group that is required for comprehensive utilization.
