Bioreactor (2) for the cultivation of algae, photosynthetic microorganisms, cyanobacteria or similar comprising a cultivation vessel (4); a device for mixing a cultivation liquid located in said cultivation vessel; in particular a device for insufflating a mixing gas, preferably air, a device for the aspiration and introduction of said liquid connected to the vessel (4) of the reactor; a cartridge (12) suitable to contain/containing nutrients to nourish said algae, photosynthetic microorganisms, cyanobacteria or similar and being connected with a connection to said vessel (4) of the reactor to feed said nutrients to said vessel (4); a filter (6) positioned over or inserted in said cultivation vessel (4); and a control unit to control the device for the aspiration and introduction of said liquid and said mixing device; a light source (24); and a carter (3) with a seat wherein is insertable or inserted said cultivation vessel (4) and comprising a respective seat for the cartridge with the nutrients. At least a part of at least a wall of said cultivation vessel (4) is transparent or opaque and said light source (24) is at least one illuminating panel which at least partially coincides with the wall of said seat (22) which is located in front of said transparent or opaque part of said wall of the vessel (4).
