Disclosed by the present invention are a method and a device to process image protection based on an object tracking algorithm. The image protection processing method based on an object tracking algorithm includes: a step in which an image processing device sets an object; and a step in which the image processing device tracks the object based on a particle filter tracking the object by using a probability distribution measurement result. The object tracking based on a particle filter can be performed based on a selection step, a propagation step, an observation step, and a prediction step. The present invention can efficiently protect personal image information at low costs when capturing by a closed circuit television (CCTV).
