FIELD: motor vehicle industry.;SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the field of transport machine building. In the method, a pickup truck contains a side body structure, a roof panel, a mounting component and a connecting means. Said mounting component has a base portion, adhesively connected to the roof panel and forming a connecting hole. Said connecting means connects the connecting hole of the mounting component and the body structure. Further, the cab of the pickup truck contains a side body structure and a tether cable connected to the mounting component and to the inner panel. This method for connecting the roof panel to the side body structure of a pickup truck cab includes the steps in which the mounting component of the first end of the connecting assembly is taped to the roof panel; it is followed by fastening the connector of the second end of the connecting assembly to the side body structure using a threaded fastener; then the heat-curing adhesive is activated by means of a furnace for fastening the mounting component to the roof panel.;EFFECT: increased strength of the body structure of a pickup truck is achieved.;20 cl, 4 dwg
