PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treatment agent by which the formation of hexavalent chromium from chromium contained in chrom-tanned leather is suppressed.SOLUTION: Provided is a treatment agent for suppressing the formation of hexavalent chromium from chromium contained in chrom-tanned leather, and is characterized by containing a phenolic antioxidant, a water-soluble antioxidant and a peptide. When using BHA, which is used as a food additive, as the phenolic antioxidant, L-ascorbic acid as the water-soluble antioxidant, and collagen peptide as the peptide, the formation of hexavalent chromium can be suppressed below detection limit by synergy effect.
