Process for the production of composite materials based on the untreated/oxidized/modified waste polycarbonate resin CR-39 formed during the mechanical treatment of optical lenses and on unsaturated polyester resins (NZPE) synthesized from polyols of waste poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) which are cross-linked with substituents for styrene based on vinyl reactive glycolysates of waste PET or modified castor oil is disclosed in this patent. The catalytic synthesis of polyols is carried out in the temperature range of 150-250 °C, with a molar ratio of PET/glycols of 0,7:1,4, in the presence of a catalyst for 6 hours. The synthesis of styrene substituents is carried out in the temperature range 0-70 °C, at a molar ratio of glycolysate/castor oil and acrylic/methacrylic acid/their chlorides of 1:0.5-5 for 6 hours. The synthesis of NZPE resins is carried out in the temperature range 110-250 °C, with a molar ratio of glycolysate and anhydride of maleic acid 0,5:2,0, using an azeotropic agent for water removal and over a period of 10-25 hours. After synthesis, NZPE resins are dissolved in the synthesized substituents, mixed with untreated/oxidized CR-39 powders, where with the addition of the initiator/accelerator a final form is obtained with satisfactory physico-mechanical properties of the composite.
