The present invention relates to novel laccase which can be used industrially for the production of high value chemicals through the treatment of hazardous environmental substances with aromatic structures, delignification of pulp, and lignin degradation, by exhibiting high oxidation activity to a lignin model compound at biologically high temperature and alkali conditions. The present invention relates to novel laccase, which can be industrially used for the efficient production of fuel, feed and chemicals, through the treatment of industrial wastewater and an environmental hazard, the decomposition of petroleum, biobleaching of pulp and lignin decomposition, by having an excellent effect of degrading lignin. The laccase according to one embodiment of the present invention is derived from a thermoalkaliphilic bacterium (Caldalkalibacillus thermarum strain TA2.A1).
