This specification describes various embodiments of a method for providing a broadband colorimeter that can include more accurate output. In one embodiment, narrowband equipment, such as a spectrometer or spectrometer, can be used for calibration of a broadband colorimeter, thus providing a more accurate output. In one embodiment, optical test equipment consisting of a broadband colorimeter and a narrowband spectrometer can be used to provide a more accurately calibrated broadband colorimeter. As an example, a spectrum system, a hybrid system consisting of a broadband colorimeter and a narrowband spectrometer, can be used for simultaneous testing with a broadband colorimeter and a narrowband spectrometer. Accurate calibration of the broadband colorimeter can be achieved by the pass test.
