FIELD: medicine.;SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to radiation diagnostics, and can be used for X-ray morphometry of fibroglandular complex and degree of glandular tissue development in diffuse form of gynecomastia in males. X-ray computed tomography (CT) of the thoracic cavity is performed. Diagnostic purpose involves examining an anterior thoracic surface including a nipple and areola area in a soft-tissue viewing window at a window level of 60HU and a window width of 400HU. If observing presence of glandular tissue in the nasal region and referring the detected changes to the diffuse form of gynecomastia, the area of the fibroglandular complex is determined. At that said area is defined on the section showing its maximum value. To calculate an area, a conditional isosceles triangle is measured, which is a reflection of the cone-shaped breast glandular tissue in diffuse gynecomastia. Base of the triangle is a glandular tissue located above the thorax, and the height of the triangle is defined as a perpendicular lowered from the nipple on the base of the triangle. Measurements are carried out using a measuring line of a computer tomography. Area of fibrogendular complex is determined by formula for determining area of isosceles triangle: S=1/2(h×b), where S is area of triangle, h is triangle height in mm, b is its base value in mm. As a result of the mathematical X-ray morphometry, the degree of development of the glandular tissue of the mammary gland is determined. Area of fibroglandular complex on X-ray computer tomography with size of up to 150 mm2 is defined as first degree. Area from 151 to 300 mm2 is defined as a second degree. Area from 301 to 399 mm2 is defined as the third degree. Area more than 400 mm2 is defined as the fourth degree of glandular tissue development in a diffuse form of gynecomastia according to X-ray examination data.;EFFECT: method provides detecting a fibrogendular complex on X-ray computed tomograms of a man's thoracic cavity and a degree of glandular tissue development by determining a fibroglandular complex area.;1 cl, 9 dwg, 9 ex
