摘要

A method for providing particles of polyvinyl chloride exhibiting improved chlorination efficiency. SOLUTION: (i) A step of providing a polymerization mixture in which vinyl chloride monomer is suspended in water at a weight ratio of water to vinyl chloride monomer of 0.9: 1 to 10: 1. (Ii) introducing an accelerator into the polymerization mixture, thereby forming an active polymerization mixture. (Iii) polymerizing the vinyl chloride monomer in the active polymerization mixture to give polyvinyl chloride particles having a median diameter of 50 μm to 750 μm. (Iv) introducing a chlorination promoter into the polyvinyl chloride particles after the polymerization step of (iii), thereby providing polyvinyl chloride particles having a reaction promoter associated with the particles, Polyvinyl chloride particles having a particle-associated reaction accelerator have a chlorination rate of at least 10% for subsequent chlorination steps, compared to similar polyvinyl chloride particles having no particle-associated reaction accelerator.
