摘要

Open Access to scientific literature has been intensively promoted and supported by many organizations and institutions over the world. The objective of this research and this case study is, on the concrete example of Knowledge organization subject area, to find out how big volume of this literature is in the present really open accessible within total electronic accessibility (including commercial), and to analyse and evaluate individual forms of this accessibility, from legal to illegal. Selected relevant examples of information resources were analysed. The case study is based on extensive bibliographic database of literature and other sources from this subject area published or created worldwide, mainly in last thirty years. Important Czech literature (not numerous) is covered too. Minor amout of important sources originates from the past. The result of basic information retrieval was processed in the form of working structured bibliographic database within research project NAKI -- Knowledge base for subject area of knowledge organization (DF13P01OVV013, Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic). Covered literature concerns, in main part, the Information science field, but in accord with current approach to Knowledge organization hits associate disciplines like Computer science, Linguistics, Semantics, Knowledge management and others. Added data about accessibility, particularly electronic, were completed using selected information resources (internet search engines, union library catalogues, portals of electronic resources). The accessibility of literature is evaluated by bibliometric method, individual forms of electronic accessibility, particularly open accessibility (online free publications, repositories and websites with preprints and postprints, open access with registration, extra open access to commercial publications, and illegal open access), are qualitative interpreted. Specific attention is devoted to open access to articles from selected commercial journals in form of preprints, postprints or publisher's copies. The analysis concerns significant journals of Knowledge organization subject area (Knowledge organization, Journal of documentation, Journal of the American Society for Information Science, Journal of the American Society for Information Science and Technology, Library Trends, Cataloging & classification quarterly, Axiomathes, Journal of information science, Annual review of information science and technology).
