摘要

This paper consists of literature review on hydrodynamics, pressure drop and liquid holdup, and mass transfer in trickle-bed reactors (TBRs). Trickle-bed reactors are commonly used three-phase reactors in chemical and petrochemical industries. A TBR consists of two flowing phases (liquid and gas) and a stagnant solid. Although most of the industrial trickle-bed reactors are operated concurrently, also countercurrent reactors exist. Both cases were studied in this review. Effects of high pressure and high fluid velocities were investigated and correlations for pressure drop and liquid holdup in the so-called high interaction regime are included. Also mass-transfer at elevated pressures was studied.
