Building the Multiplier Effect: Summary of a National Symposium, September 14-16, 1978

The report is of a national symposium held September 14-16, 1978, in Washington, DC, to evaluate the progress made to increase the number of minority graduates from college and university engineering programs, to determine how best to expand minority participation in engineering, and to chart a course for the next phase. The purpose of the 1978 symposium was to bring together leaders in the various fields that are involved in the effort to increase minority participation in engineering. The theme of the symposium was the next five years, or Phase 2: how to create a multiplier effect that builds on the knowledge and experience gained so far in order that many more minority youths will enter and succeed in the engineering profession.
