Handbook for Protection of Fish and Wildlife from Construction of Farm and Forest Roads; Best Management Practices for Building Activities Associated with the Discharge of Dredged or Fill Material

This Handbook describes 54 best management practices which may be utilized by Federal and State agencies or private landowners and operators in the review of project plans and in the planning, construction, and maintenance of farm and forest roads. Best management practices (BMPs) for planning road and facility layout and design, erosion control, construction and maintenance operations, and restoration to natural conditions. Based on the results of the evaluation, BMPs were modified or augmented with other practices to enhance their overall effectiveness and to provide for protection and propagation of fish and wildlife resources.
