Organic Solvents and the Central Nervous System. Chronic Effects of Organic Solvents on the Central Nervous System and Diagnostic Criteria

The joint meeting was held in Copenhagen from 10-14 June 1985. Its objectives were to review and reach conclusions on: definition and practical delimitation of the concept of organic solvents; diagnosis and differential diagnosis; biological monitoring, including toxicokinetics; effect of exposure to low concentrations of organic solvents over a long period; relevance of animal studies for risk prediction in humans; identification of particularly sensitive persons and dangerous organic solvents; and hygiene strategies.
