摘要

Two methods to determine variables relevant to the appraisal of ground water resources are presented. It is shown that the properties and thickness of the different soil layers can be inferred from the thermal behavior of the soil surface. An application of remotely sensed thermal infrared data to estimate shallow groundwater table depths is presented. A method dealing with the determination of actual evaporation in large regions by combining visible and thermal infrared data with ground measurements is discussed.
