A study of the solar wind-magnetosphere interaction at the dayside and nightside magnetopause

The Final Technical Report on a study of the solar wind - magnetospheric interaction at the dayside and nightside magnetopause is presented. Topics covered include (1) simulation of driven fast magnetic reconnection; (2) magnetohydrodynamic studies of slow mode structures in front of the dayside magnetopause; (3) slow shock results; and (4) impulsive plasma penetration results.
