Blending with, enriched UO2 was demonstrated to be a technically feasible method for re-enriching spent, UO2 reactor fuels. Mixing of powders containing small and similarly sized particles yielded fuel with the enriched particles well dispersed in the finished pellets.nAn autoradiographic technique, based on alpha particle emission, was used to show the distribution of enriched UO2 in the sintered pellets.
