Large Scale Permeability Test of the Granite in the Stipa Mine and Thermal Conductivity Test. Technical Project Report No. 2.

The investigated properties of the granite bedrock at Stripa may be summarized as follows:The permeability is very low, 0.4 x 10exp -10 m/s,and independent of the pressure gradient. The permeability is reduced by 50percent at a temperature increase from +10exp 0 C to +35exp 0 C. The thermal conductivity was determined in situ to be about 4 W/m exp 0 C which largely agrees with laboratory determinations. The effective porosity was determined to be 0.012percent. 12figs.
