Building Energy Performance Standards, Phase III. Reference Building Set to Be Used as a Vehicle for Testing Energy-Code Equivalency. Preliminary Draft

This preliminary draft report describes the process and results of an activity intended to identify a set of buildings which would provide a fair basis for testing the equivalency between existing ASHRAE 90 based state energy codes and the proposed BEPS requirements. The requirements for building classification originating in the existing state energy codes and in the BEPS NOPR are described. The numerical and judgemental factors used in the selection of the Reference buildings are described and the buildings selected are illustrated. Comprehensive descriptions of the selected buildings are currently being prepared. (ERA citation 08:044069)
