Shallow Reflection Seismic Investigation of Fracture Zones in the Finnsjoe Area, Method Evaluation

In the Finnsjoe area a reflection seismic profile has been shot. Under the profile the crystalline bedrock lies close to the surface (seldom more than 2 m), and the seismic velocities are high. There are known fracture zones in the area. A larger, sub horizontal fracture zone (zone 2) turned out to be difficult to detect, while a steeply dipping zone (Braendan zone) seems to be more reflective. It has not been possible to present a stacked section that enhances zone 2 so it can be followed along the profile. A reason can be that it simply is not a very reflective zone.
