摘要

Alloying a thermal neutron absorber into fast neutron assemblies poisons the systems dramatically when they are subjected to a hydrogenous environment. However, under their usual operating conditions, the performance of such units is only minimally effected. Thus, a poison can greatly reduce or remove the sensitivity to handling, storage, and transportation of such fast neutron components.
