This report series contains four parts.n1. THEORY AND ANALYSIS - In this report the theory is developed and the results of the theory are discussed and interpreted in terms of the influences of permeability and compressibility vari¬ation on excess pore pressure and time-settlement relations.n2. ANALYTICAL SOLUTIONS - This report presents the details of the mathematical techniques necessary to achieve analytical solu¬tions to the theory.n3. NUMERICAL ANALYSIS AND METHODS OF SOLUTION -This report presents in detail the numerical methods that are useful in developing numerical solutions from the theory for a given vari¬ation of permeability and compressibility. The computer solution is presented in terms of flow charts and a write-up of the source pro¬gram. Time and accuracy comparisons are made for the various numerical methods discussed.n4. PORE PRESSURE ISOCHRONES AND TIME-SETTLEMENT CURVES - This report presents a complete set of pore pressure isochrones and time-settlement curves for the range of consolidation parameters under consideration in this study.
